If you send your kids to daycare, school or basically anywhere public they will at some point catch a bug. Why? Children are horrible with their personal hygiene. Kids are notorious for touching everything they come in contact with and then touching eyes, nose, and mouth. Generally if your child gets sick then your whole household will get sick as well. As parent’s we all know hand washing often and hand sanitizer will cut down on the germs. However, there are places that are more germ-infested than others. Here are three common places that children can pick up illness causing germs.

The Playground

In a recent study, this area was found to have all kinds of body fluids on hard surfaces. Fecal matter, urine and blood are some examples of the fluids found at public playgrounds. Hand sanitizer is a must at the playground.

Hand Rails

Going up the escalator at the mall or walking up steps at the park is examples of how children can get germs from hand rails. Thousands of people touch hand rails every day and germs will obviously live here.

Shopping Carts

Do you sit your little one in the shopping cart at the store? You stop to look at something or to put something in the cart and when you turn around your little one is trying to eat the handle on the shopping cart. Again, this is one of those things a lot of people touch and not everyone washes their hands regularly.
